Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated Safety, Health & Environment (SH&E) Advisor to join our dynamic team in Abu Dhabi. This role is essential in supporting compliance with local SH&E regulations, AECOM standards, and project-specific safety policies. The SH&E Advisor will conduct daily site inspections, monitor risks, and foster a culture of safety excellence throughout our projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the on-site SH&E point of contact for all safety-related matters

  • Conduct daily inspections and report safety issues and observations

  • Ensure contractor compliance with SH&E policies, plans, and legislative obligations

  • Review and assess risk mitigation documents, including SWMS and risk assessments

  • Participate in and, if needed, chair site SH&E meetings

  • Monitor site security, fire safety, first aid, and welfare facilities

  • Investigate incidents and near misses, identify preventative measures, and ensure follow-through

  • Report SH&E metrics and provide regular updates to Project and SH&E Leads

  • Attend relevant SH&E training and maintain professional competency

  • Promote a proactive safety culture by setting a strong personal example


Requirements

  • Diploma in Engineering, Occupational Safety, or related discipline

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent safety qualification

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in safety management within construction or infrastructure projects

  • Strong understanding of UAE SH&E regulations and compliance requirements

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills

  • Experience conducting risk assessments and investigations

  • Ability to influence and support safety awareness across teams
