Team Lead, Business Planning Manager (CIB Coverage)

The Team Lead, Business Planning Manager will support the Corporate Investment Banking (CIB) Coverage Team by driving governance, business performance, and the execution of key initiatives. This includes business reviews, client portfolio management, people strategy, communication, and project delivery. The role works closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with cluster goals. This is a hybrid role with a focus on strategy and business performance in the Middle East & Pakistan region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the implementation of country Corporate Investment Banking (CIB) client segment strategies, ensuring alignment with Cluster & Group.

  • Work with the CEOs & Coverage Heads in the Middle East & Pakistan to co-define go-to-market strategy and execution plan.

  • Organise and lead strategy days to ensure close communication and alignment between Coverage, products, and functional teams.

  • Lead the preparation of the annual Corporate Plan for the business section.

  • Review the delivery of agreed business performance and cost targets.

  • Identify risks and opportunities to meet performance targets and propose remediation actions.

  • Lead preparation for business reviews and other regular updates.

  • Manage Coverage cost budgets and cost centres with support from HR and Finance.

  • Track frontline productivity and identify areas for improvement.

Skills and Experience:

  • Problem-solving skills for client strategy, root-cause analysis, and business performance analysis.

  • Strong interpersonal skills for networking, influencing, and decision-making.

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.

  • Highly proactive, demonstrating ambition, dedication, and pride in work.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree.

  • Detailed understanding of the Corporate Investment Banking business and product capabilities (sales process, relationship management, risk, product sales, etc.).

  • Willingness to challenge the status quo and interact with senior management.

  • Fluent in English and Arabic.
