Director of Sales & Marketing

  • Shangri-La Dubai is seeking a Director of Sales & Marketing to drive revenue growth and market expansion. This strategic role will oversee the hotel’s sales and marketing efforts, aiming to increase room sales, ancillary revenue streams, and brand positioning. The Director will be responsible for formulating and executing annual sales plans, monitoring market trends, leading the sales team, and collaborating with key stakeholders to achieve business targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales & Marketing Strategy:

    • Develop and execute sales strategies to drive growth across room and ancillary sales.

    • Analyze market trends and competitors, adjusting strategies to maintain a competitive edge.

    • Lead proactive initiatives based on market shifts and sales forecasts.

    • Establish revenue targets and implement action plans to achieve them.

  • Team Leadership & Development:

    • Manage, motivate, and train the sales and marketing team to achieve revenue targets.

    • Ensure the team has the necessary tools and information to fulfill their responsibilities.

    • Foster a teamwork environment with clear communication among co-workers and departments.

  • Brand Positioning & Partnerships:

    • Maintain and strengthen the hotel’s brand image and position in the luxury market.

    • Develop collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders to enhance brand visibility and drive revenue.

    • Oversee events and activities that maximize banquet revenues.

  • Customer & Stakeholder Relations:

    • Build and maintain relationships with key customers, external stakeholders, and industry partners.

    • Leverage partnerships to increase business volume, including room and catering sales.

  • Digital Marketing & CRM:

    • Utilize digital marketing, CRM tools, and data analytics to optimize sales and marketing efforts.

    • Ensure the hotel’s marketing activities remain cutting-edge and competitive.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration:

    • Work closely with the VP Operations & General Manager, Director of Revenue Optimization, and other executive team members to guide business decisions and achieve overall hotel success.

    • Contribute to branding, revenue, and sales channel optimization for the hotel.

Requirements:

  • Experience:

    • Proven track record in driving revenue growth and market expansion in a 5* international luxury property.

    • Experience in the local UAE and GCC market is essential.

  • Skills:

    • Proficiency in digital marketing, CRM tools, and data analytics.

    • Strong leadership, negotiation, and decision-making skills.

    • Goal-oriented with the ability to challenge the status quo and adapt to market trends.

  • Attributes:
