Ciena is seeking a Senior Manager, Sales Engineering to lead a new IP and Optical Sales Engineering team addressing customer requirements in the Middle East. This role involves managing a technical sales team, building relationships with key technology decision-makers, and driving Ciena’s solutions across the region. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of telecommunications industry experience, a technical degree, and a deep understanding of optical transport and IP technologies.
Key Responsibilities:

Build and maintain trust with key technology decision-makers within the customer base.

Serve as the subject matter expert and technical advisor for Ciena’s solutions.

Manage a high-performance team of Pre-Sales engineers, providing mentoring, performance appraisals, and professional development.

Lead customer product solution discussions and presentations, ensuring the technical value proposition is communicated clearly.

Prepare quotes, RFx’s, and forecasts for customer proposals.

Track technological trends, regulations, and market opportunities, aligning them with Ciena’s business objectives.
Candidate Profile:

Technical Degree (BSEE or relevant experience).

Over 10 years of telecommunications industry experience with expertise in optical transport technologies (OTN, DWDM, DCI) and Core Routing/Switching.

Strong understanding of multi-layer network architectures (IP, Ethernet, MPLS).

Proven ability to lead teams, manage cross-functional collaboration, and influence senior leadership.

Business acumen with understanding of the sales cycle and customer engagement.

Fluent in English and Arabic, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to travel as required (~20%).
