Assistant Project Manager

AECOM, a global infrastructure consulting firm, is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support project execution and ensure successful delivery. This role involves managing project resources, coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders, and maintaining compliance with company policies and industry standards. The position requires a proactive professional with strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage one or more less complex projects or specific project phases under senior supervision.

  • Identify and mitigate potential project risks while optimizing opportunities.

  • Effectively allocate and track project budgets and resources.

  • Advise and mentor less experienced team members on project management skills.

  • Develop project schedules, timelines, and milestones using tools like Microsoft Project or Primavera.

  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met on time and within budget.

  • Prepare and present project status reports to senior management and clients.

  • Contribute to the development of project proposals and cost estimates.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.

  • Assist in risk management and the development of mitigation strategies.

  • Participate in client meetings and site visits to gather project requirements and maintain client relationships.

  • Support implementation of project management best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Science, or a related field.

  • 3-6 years of experience in project management or a related role.

  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera).

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in Project Management or a related field.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

  • Experience in environmental, engineering, or construction projects.

  • Familiarity with EPA regulations and environmental compliance.

  • Knowledge of budgeting and financial management principles.
