Job Title: Vice President (VP) / Principal – Direct Investments Team

Charterhouse is partnering with a prominent and diversified local group that is seeking to add an experienced Vice President (VP) or Principal to their newly established Direct Investments Team. This team focuses on direct investments across the private markets, aiming to diversify the group’s investment portfolios.

As a VP or Principal, you will work closely with the head of the division and play a critical role in developing and implementing the investment mandate and thesis. The role encompasses the full deal lifecycle, from origination and execution to managing the portfolio of existing assets. The team handles a wide range of transactions, including Primary, Secondary, Mezzanine, LBO, and more.

This position offers a broad scope, providing exposure to global transactions across various sectors. It is ideal for a generalist who prefers not to be overly specialized in any one area of investment. You will be instrumental in shaping the strategy, vision, and direction of the investment team as it continues to evolve.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the head of the division to define and implement the investment strategy and mandate.
• Lead and manage the entire deal lifecycle, from origination to execution and portfolio management of existing assets.
• Participate in diverse transactions, including Primary, Secondary, Mezzanine, LBO, and other private market deals.
• Contribute to the strategic direction and development of the investment team.
• Gain significant exposure to global transactions, working across various sectors and regions.
• Provide leadership in building out the investment team’s vision, with a strong focus on strategy implementation.

Requirements:

• At least 10+ years of experience in private market transactions, ideally with a background in Investment Banking (IB).
• Strong exposure to regional deals, combined with international deal experience, particularly in Europe and/or North America.
• Proven ability to manage the full deal lifecycle, from origination to execution and portfolio management.
• Generalist approach to investments, with the flexibility to handle a broad range of investment mandates.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to contribute to strategic development and team-building.
