Job Description:
Employment: Full Time
1. Commissioning Planning and Coordination
- Develop and manage the commissioning plan, schedules, and procedures for all systems related to the gas compression facility.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and operations teams to ensure alignment on commissioning requirements.
- Establish clear handover protocols and ensure smooth transitions from construction to commissioning.
2. Execution and Supervision
- Lead commissioning activities for all systems, including compression units, piping, electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Oversee system checks, loop testing, functional testing, and performance validation to ensure operational readiness.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues during commissioning, working closely with relevant teams.
3. Team Leadership and Training
- Build, manage, and mentor a multidisciplinary commissioning team, including subcontractors and vendors.
- Conduct training sessions and provide guidance to operations staff for effective handover and facility operation.
4. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)
- Ensure compliance with all HSE policies, procedures, and regulatory standards during commissioning activities.
- Promote a safety-first culture and address any potential risks proactively.
5. Documentation and Reporting
- Prepare and maintain detailed commissioning records, including test reports, punch lists, and handover certificates.
- Provide regular progress reports to stakeholders, highlighting milestones, challenges, and solutions.
6. Stakeholder Communication
- Collaborate with clients, vendors, and regulatory authorities to ensure commissioning meets contractual and statutory obligations.
- Manage expectations and maintain strong working relationships with all project stakeholders.
Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience:
- Minimum 15 years of experience in commissioning, with at least 5 years in gas compression or similar onshore oil and gas projects.
- Proven track record in managing commissioning activities for complex projects.
Technical Expertise:
- In-depth knowledge of gas compression systems, rotating equipment, piping, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
- Familiarity with industry standards, such as API, ASME, and IEC.
Skills:
- Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proficient in project management tools and software.
Certifications (Preferred):
- PMP, Commissioning Management Certification, or equivalent.
- HSE certifications such as NEBOSH or OSHA.
