Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Japanese Cuisine Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will bring authentic flavors and expert techniques to craft high-quality Japanese dishes, including sushi, ramen, tempura, teppanyaki, and sashimi. This role requires a strong understanding of traditional ingredients, precise knife skills, and innovative food presentation techniques.

Key Responsibilities

🍣 Culinary Expertise & Dish Preparation:

  • Prepare authentic Japanese cuisine with precision, including sushi, sashimi, ramen, tempura, and teppanyaki.

  • Ensure consistency in flavors, textures, and presentation while maintaining high culinary standards.

  • Innovate and enhance menu offerings to create an exceptional dining experience.

🔪 Kitchen & Ingredient Management:

  • Source, store, and handle Japanese ingredients like sushi rice, seaweed, soy sauce, miso, and wasabi.

  • Maintain proper kitchen hygiene and food safety standards to comply with regulations.

  • Manage inventory levels and ensure freshness of all ingredients.

📊 Efficiency & Collaboration:

  • Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely food preparation.

  • Train and mentor team members in Japanese cooking techniques and plating aesthetics.

  • Operate and maintain Japanese kitchen tools such as sushi knives, cutting boards, and tempura fryers.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience & Skills:

  • 1-3 years of experience as a Japanese Cuisine Chef in a high-end restaurant or hospitality setting.

  • Expertise in Japanese cooking techniques, including precise knife skills, steaming, fermentation, and deep-frying.

  • Strong attention to detail and creativity in food presentation.

  • Knowledge of Japanese culinary traditions, food safety, and hygiene regulations.
