The Role:

We are seeking a Geotechnical Design Engineer to lead piling, shoring, and ground improvement designs. The role requires expertise in geotechnical analysis, foundation engineering, and excavation support systems. The ideal candidate will provide cost-effective, technically sound solutions while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform geotechnical analysis and design for piling, shoring, and retention systems, including bored piles, secant/contiguous pile walls, sheet piling, and anchoring systems.
• Conduct ground improvement studies, including soil-structure interaction, settlement analysis, and liquefaction risk assessment.
• Develop structural and geotechnical calculations, reports, and value-engineered solutions to optimize costs and enhance constructability.
• Collaborate with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities to align designs with site conditions and project requirements.
• Review and approve shop drawings, method statements, and technical submissions to ensure design integrity and compliance.
• Provide technical support during project execution, resolving any design-related challenges on-site.
• Ensure adherence to local and international engineering standards (BS, Eurocodes, ACI, ASTM, Dubai Municipality guidelines).
• Maintain accurate design calculations, reports, and technical documentation within the Integrated Management System (IMS).
• Assist with authority approvals and regulatory compliance.

Key Authorities:

• Approve geotechnical design reports and calculations for submission.
• Validate shop drawings in alignment with project requirements.
• Recommend design modifications to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Engage with external consultants and regulatory bodies for technical approvals.

Qualifications & Requirements:

✔ Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s in Geotechnical Engineering is a plus).
✔ DM Accredited/Approved Engineer.
✔ Proficiency in geotechnical design software (PLAXIS, DeepEX, Wallap, SAFE, STAAD.Pro, GeoStudio).
✔ Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and excavation support.
✔ Ability to interpret site investigation reports, borehole logs, and laboratory test results.
✔ Excellent coordination, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
✔ Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
✔ Minimum of 3+ years of experience in geotechnical design for piling and shoring projects.
