Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced and strategic Supply Chain Manager to lead procurement, logistics, and supplier engagement for our gold mining project in Sudan. This position is critical in ensuring timely procurement, customs clearance, and supply chain efficiency while maintaining compliance with local and international regulations. The role requires expertise in working with government bodies, local contractors, and production teams to secure essential materials and services for seamless mining operations.

This is a FIFO-based role, operating on a 60 days on / 30 days off rotation from our Port Sudan office.

Key Responsibilities

✅ Strategic Procurement & Vendor Management

• Develop and execute a localized procurement strategy, ensuring cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.
• Build strong relationships with local contractors, suppliers, and service providers to support operational efficiency.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements, ensuring favorable terms, compliance, and reliability.

✅ Regulatory Compliance & Customs Operations

• Oversee the customs clearance process, ensuring full adherence to Sudanese and international regulations.
• Maintain active engagement with government authorities and regulatory bodies to streamline operational requirements.

✅ Logistics & Inventory Management

• Manage transportation, warehousing, and delivery of equipment, materials, and supplies to remote mining locations.
• Coordinate with production teams to forecast supply needs and optimize inventory levels.
• Implement risk management strategies to mitigate disruptions in the supply chain.

✅ Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and mine operations teams to ensure smooth supply chain integration.
• Maintain high ethical standards and enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental protocols.

Qualifications & Experience

📌 Essential Requirements
✔ 8+ years of experience in supply chain management, procurement, and logistics, preferably in mining, oil & gas, or heavy industries.
✔ In-depth knowledge of customs regulations, import/export laws, and local procurement in challenging environments.
✔ Strong negotiation and contract management skills, with the ability to engage with government officials and suppliers.
✔ Proven ability to work in remote, resource-limited locations with evolving regulatory and geopolitical conditions.
✔ Fluent in English and Russian; knowledge of Arabic is highly desirable.
✔ Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
✔ Relevant certifications (CSCP, CSCM, CIPS) are a plus.
