Job Title: Japanese Cuisine Chef

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Japanese Cuisine Chef to bring authentic flavors and culinary expertise to our restaurant. The ideal candidate will have experience in preparing traditional Japanese dishes, ensuring high-quality presentation, and maintaining strict hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Japanese Cuisine Expertise

  • Prepare a variety of Japanese dishes, including sushi, sashimi, ramen, tempura, and teppanyaki.
  • Maintain consistency in flavors, textures, and presentation of dishes.

Ingredient & Inventory Management

  • Ensure proper handling and storage of Japanese ingredients, including sushi rice, seaweed, miso, and soy sauce.
  • Manage inventory levels to avoid waste and ensure freshness.

Food Preparation & Cooking Techniques

  • Utilize traditional Japanese cooking techniques, such as precise knife skills, fermentation, steaming, and deep-frying.
  • Operate Japanese kitchen tools and equipment, including sushi knives, cutting boards, and tempura fryers.

Hygiene & Safety Compliance

  • Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards in compliance with health regulations.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace.

Creativity & Innovation

  • Develop visually appealing food presentations with traditional and modern plating techniques.
  • Innovate new dishes while preserving the authenticity of Japanese cuisine.

 

Skills & Competencies:

📌 Proficiency in Traditional Japanese Dishes – Expertise in sushi, sashimi, ramen, tempura, teppanyaki, and more.
📌 Deep Knowledge of Japanese Ingredients – Familiarity with key components like miso, soy sauce, and seaweed.
📌 Strong Knife & Cooking Techniques – Ability to execute precise cuts and traditional cooking methods.
📌 Food Safety & Hygiene Awareness – Ensuring compliance with health and sanitation regulations.
📌 Creativity in Food Presentation – Strong attention to aesthetics and plating.
📌 Inventory & Kitchen Management – Efficient stock control and ingredient handling.

Preferred Candidate:

Experience: 1 – 3 years in Japanese cuisine
Residence Location: United Arab Emirates
