Legal Counsel

KEO, a leading global design and project management firm, is looking for an experienced Legal Counsel to join our dynamic team in Dubai. As a Legal Counsel, you will be integral in providing legal guidance, managing disputes, and ensuring the company’s contractual obligations are met in alignment with corporate goals. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to high-profile projects in a rapidly growing organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head of Legal with coordination of arbitration and legal proceedings involving KEO, in collaboration with external legal counsel when necessary.

  • Conduct legal research and provide updates on relevant changes in laws and regulations impacting KEO’s business operations.

  • Support the review and negotiation of client contracts, ensuring compliance with KEO’s standard contractual procedures.

  • Provide advice on claims, bonds, insurance, and contractual issues for KEO’s senior management team.

  • Review Request for Proposal (RFP), Invitation to Tender (ITT) terms, contract conditions, and associated legal obligations, working with the bid team.

  • Oversee the preparation and execution of joint ventures (JV), MOUs, NDAs, and client/subcontractor agreements.

  • Negotiate contract terms with clients, consultants, and contractors, ensuring all agreements are met during project execution.

  • Assist in preparing claims for submission to clients and defend against third-party claims.

  • Participate in senior management meetings and contribute to regional business planning.

  • Assist in training and seminars, guiding other departments on contractual and legal best practices.

  • Prepare and finalize legal documentation for project-related agreements and contracts.

  • Travel as required to support project needs and external consultations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law (Master’s Degree or Engineering qualification with legal qualification preferred).

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in contract advisory roles, particularly in construction, engineering, or project management sectors.

  • Strong understanding of construction claims, dispute resolution, and project-based contracts.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

  • Experience in managing high-value legal claims and contract disputes.
